Preparing for the weekend seems to always invite searching for great easy recipes. Whether having company or not, good hosts always try to include appetizers for the weekend.  Simple is best so treats can be prepared fast or ahead to be ready for inviting friends to join in for lazy dock days, boating off for adventures, or watching sunsets. 

Conecuh Bites are easy to make and deliciously mix hearty and sweet flavors.  If you've never had Conecuh Sausage, and you like sausage, do yourself a favor and get some. Conecuh Sausage from Evergreen, Alabama ships anywhere in the United States or can be found in most Alabama grocery stores, even the small ones around the lake. 

RECIPE
Conecuh Bites

• 1 package of Conecuh Sausage
• 1 can of pineapple chunks
• favorite BBQ Sauce  (Try Dreamland Sauce or Bully Sauce).
  
• toothpicks 

Grill or fry the sausage and cut it into serving pieces (see photo for size). Open the pineapple and drain. Using a toothpick, combine a piece of sausage with a pineapple chunk.  To serve, arrange toothpicked bites nicely on a platter, with a bowl of BBQ sauce in the middle.  To eat, simply dip the bites into the BBQ sauce.  These are addictive, so make plenty if serving a crowd! 

NOTE:  for cheese lovers, add a small block of cheddar cheese to the sausage/pineapple combo to make the treat even better.
