Smith Lake: What's on your Playlist?

​At the lake, weekends are definitely for music.   Time to wind down and just let all the tension melt.  For most of the week, we’ve all been in work mode, in the stress zone, receiving and sending countless emails, preparing for and attending meetings; and hitting the caffeine hard to keep up with the daily grind.  By the end of the week, focus begins to falter.  By Friday, we are ready for a break, so we hit the road and head to the lake.  As we arrive at our destination,  …ahhhhhhh… now it’s time to kick back, soak up the sun, relax, refresh, and let it all just float… away… if only for a little while. Yes, by the end of the week, we’re all in need of a recharge, and definitely no better way to get that than through the cathartic power of music!

Music – it just stirs the soul, makes us happy, makes us move/dance, causes us to think and feel, conjures memories, and heightens new experiences.  Lakeside, you may enjoy it played in the background in the house, on the deck, on the dock, by the fire pit, or through your headphones/earbuds as you go about your weekend outdoor routine.  Or, if you are like so many on the water, you also enjoy music on your boat while riding about the lake, either for a relaxing pontoon jaunt, buzzing down the lake on your PWC, or in full heavy watersports sessions with friends and family.  We love to hear the different vessels go by, it’s like you can “hear” a mood from their taste in music; and sometimes it just takes you somewhere in your mind.  So much good music out there, and “variety is the spice of life!”  Geez, who doesn’t like music, it’s the soundtrack of our lives after all, and truly a background color in the tapestry of life on the lake during the weekend.
