1/8/2018 0 Comments the lakeside life team-dividedHere at The Lakeside Life we consider our little trio a pretty tight knit group. But today, today is a little different. Here in the South, our lives revolve around sweet tea, days on the lake, Jesus and of course, SEC football. With today being a big game, a VERY big game, our team is just slightly divided. National Championship games are always exciting when an SEC team is playing, but TWO SEC teams playing brings a whole new meaning to the day. Alabama vs Georgia will be an iconic game. Each team tugs at the heart strings of each of our founders in a different way. ![]() For Syndi Hanna and her family, they struggle with chosing a team. Syndi and her husband Scott are both originally from Moultrie, GA, so their Dawg Pride runs deep. The long time Georgia fans moved to Alabama in 1997 and knew they HAD to pick a local team to root for. So, the Hanna's chose Alabama. However, the Hanna's son Tylar converted to being an Auburn fan because his school principal, that he admires dearly - Mr. Wiggins, is an Auburn fan. So today, with the iconic match up, the Hanna's are a little torn. But in the end, Syndi and her husband Scott will stay true to their roots and yell GO DAWGS! ![]() The Rigg family on the other hand, is a SUPER divided family. I am not so sure I would want to watch football at their house. Beth and her twin girls are Auburn fans, her husband Tim is an Alabama fan and their son Ty is both an Alabama and Georgia fan. Ty is having the most difficult time deciding who to root for. Ty's "Pops" was born and raised in Georgia. He went to school at UGA and played football there prior to entering into the Army. So although Beth's family has ties to the Dawgs, Beth loyalty lies with her husbands team, The Crimson Tide. Over at the May house, there is only ONE choice: Alabama. Haley is a 2012 graduate of The University of Alabama and she is all about some Alabama football. Although she was raised by Auburn loving parents, Haley has always been a fan of The Tide. She was a student at UA when they defeted LSU in 2011 and Notre Dame in 2012 to bring home the National Title. Haley's husband is also an Alabama fan along with their twin boys, Cash and Camber, who are two years old and have masted the sayings "Roll Tide" and "Aubrun Stinks". Note: Haley's parents will 100% be rooting against The Tide. In the end, the Lakeside team is very excited to root on the two teams for yet another SEC National Championship.
Who will you be rooting for today?
